Emma and Thomas had a gorgeous rustic chic wedding on January 7th at One Preston Events in Gunter, TX. They met in college and had been doing long distance while Emma went to law school and Thomas was stationed at the border! When the wedding day came, it was such a relief because they knew the long wait would soon be over and they'd be able to be with each other permanently. It was such an honor to help Thomas and Emma during their wedding planning process. Come along to see exactly what we did!
Vendors We Chose for an Elevated Country Wedding
Venue: One Preston Events
This venue was a dream! We chose this venue because it was close to Thomas's family and was able to have nearby accommodations for Emma's family flying in from out of state. We were able to get the chapel they desired for the ceremony and a light, airy, and modern barn for the reception! This allowed for Thomas to get his rustic charm without sacrificing Emma's need for a more elegant ambiance!

Katherine is a long time friend of Emma's and she couldn't imagine having anyone else shoot her wedding! They have been taking pictures of each other since Katherine got her first camera. When Emma was planning her wedding, there was no question in her mind about who she wanted to document the big day. She couldn't imagine having anyone else besides Katherine behind the lens! Their bond brought an extra level of comfort and ease to the portrait portion of their day. This was such a special touch to their wedding day.

Since the venue is mostly white, they wanted to add pops of color with their florals! They chose colorful wildflowers that made the venue absolutely shine. Don't you think? There is something so beautiful about a colorful arrangement!
Catering: Beyond the Box Catering
Emma and Thomas opted for a brunch wedding because when they tasted the chicken and waffles at the tasting, they NEEDED to incorporate it in more than just an appetizer! They also both love Mimosa's so this was a perfect way to have those readily available during the wedding!
Cake: Uncle Willies Pies
To go with the brunch theme, Emma and Thomas chose a small cinnamon roll flavored cake. They also had lots of cute little mini pies for everyone to eat for dessert! Thomas is a HUGE pie person but still wanted the traditional cake cutting pictures so they opted for both!
Personal Touches That Made Their Day Extra Special
There were so many special moments during Thomas and Emma's wedding! Here are just a few that made their day EXTRA amazing and a day that they will remember for a lifetime:
Emma's Abuela gifted her with a token that had been passed down for generations for her to wear inside her dress near her heart.
Emma's pastor, who's been a part of her life since forever, hopped on a plane all the way from California to officiate her wedding to Thomas!
Thomas's younger brother gave the most tear-jerking best-man speech! The speech was all about how much Thomas means to him and how he has always been trying to follow in his footsteps and be as good of a man as Thomas could be and hopefully catch such a beautiful girl like Emma. So sweet!
As their wedding came to a close, Thomas and Emma stole a moment just for themselves to dance to "Feathered Indians", one of their absolute favorite songs.
They had a BEAUTIFUL bubble exit in the golden hour!
They wanted to end early as well so they could have a kick-ass after-party in downtown Dallas! It was a great time that's for sure!
